Vocational Rehabilitation is the state employment agency for individuals with disabilities. We help eligible participants prepare for and find work that leads to competitive integrated employment. We support career paths based on strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, interests and informed choice.
Students between the ages of 14-21 (day prior to their 22nd birthday) are able to engage in five Pre-Employment Transition Services that are designed to provide vocational exploration based on the student’s interests without having to formally apply and be determined eligible for VR services. These limited services include Workplace Readiness Training (including social skills and independent living), Job Exploration Counseling, Instruction in Self-Advocacy, Counseling on Post-Secondary Exploration and Work-Based Learning Experiences. Should the student require individualized employment support services, they will need to apply for, be determined eligible and agree to a developed Individualized Plan for Employment.
