Neighborhood Place of Kona

Neighborhood Place of Kona is a community based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving families in West Hawai`i communities since 1997. Through partnerships with public and private agencies and groups, Neighborhood Place of Kona has become a Pu`uhonua (place of safety and peace) where all families are welcome. In a supportive, non-judgmental, culturally sensitive, compassionate atmosphere, Neighborhood Place of Kona focuses on the well-being of children and families. We provide Family Strengthening Services that help each family address their needs. Our caring staff will work directly with your family to promote healthy parent-child relationships. We do this through increasing knowledge of child development, improving parenting and coping skills, and enhancing problem-solving abilities through a “Talk Story” approach. The mission of Neighborhood Place of Kona is to ensure the wellbeing of children and their families by promoting environments of peace and safety.
