The Department of Health, Early Intervention Section has 18 Early Intervention (EI) Programs statewide. The EI programs provide services for eligible children birth to three years old with special needs and their families. EI services support parents and /or caregivers in helping their children develop in communication, cognitive, physical, social & emotional, and adaptive skills in their natural learning environment and daily routines. Hawaii EI services are provided using the Primary Service Provider teaming approach and the Coaching model. The goal of EI is to partner with you to provide the supports and resources that best meet your family’s priorities and your child’s needs.
